Personally, I always find a sense of safety and calm in my bathroom space. It feels like the one place where I can be completely bare. Not just without clothes, but without all the little masks we wear to make it through the wilderness of everyday life. Even if it’s a small bathroom decor. It’s the space where I can unwind, forget about everything, and simply take care of myself. 🤍
Whether it’s sinking into a warm bubble bath, losing track of time with a slow skincare ritual. Or stepping into a quick yet soul-refreshing shower … I always, without exception, feel so much better afterwards. It’s the best kind of therapy I know. Well … that, and a scoop of ice cream.😋 Or all of them together. 🤭
I know we usually sip a glass of wine in a hot bath. But why not watch our favourite movie and eat not one, but as many scoops of ice cream as we want? With no guilt, and no shame in the world. I think I’ve just described my plans for this weekend.🙃 Let’s see how I always make the most of my small bathroom decor.
Vertical Storage Is a Saviour

To be truthful, I’ve always leaned towards minimalist design. What I mean by that is … I like everything tucked away, out of sight. My mind doesn’t cope well with clutter. It needs calm, open space to breathe. It’s a habit I’ve grown into over the years, side by side with my anxiety. 👀 When I was younger, I don’t think anything had the power to bother me. But … we grow, we learn. Or at least, that’s what they say. For me, it’s more like … I grow, I adapt. 😅
Anyway … vertical storage, right? 😋 I love to have all my pampering things in my bathroom. Face creams, body lotions, bubble bath bombs, perfumes, scented candles, essential oils … you get the idea. But I don’t like to see them. So even if I struggle a bit with my space, I always make it work. It’s just about finding the slimmest, tallest bathroom cabinets. Or cute vertical storage with mirrors included. And for those little decorations or fancy lotion bottles, I’d even suggest floating shelves or wall-mounted baskets. That way, we can display our little perfume collection (I know for sure every woman has one 🤩🤫).
Make the Vanity the Heart of the Space

This is honestly the best way to make use of a part of the bathroom that’s already being occupied. What I mean is … we all need a sink, inevitably, so why not turn it into something beautiful and functional? We can choose the most spacious vanity that fits our space. I personally love a stylish vanity with plenty of drawers and elegant gold handles.✨ Or, if I’m feeling a little bolder, black accents can add a bit of modern drama. 🖤
But it’s not just the lower part that matters. We can go for a crystal bowl sink and lean fully into modern design. And honestly, it looks absolutely adorable. It completely shifts the energy of our bathroom It changes the old idea of what a bathroom “should” look like.
Another key element is the upper space. I always choose cabinets with mirrors integrated. I adore these dual-purpose pieces! They’re practical, elegant and keep everything looking minimalist and clean. And the best part? Inside, we can hide anything we like. 🙂 Everything we reach for during those little sessions of self-indulgence. 😌
Create a Spa-Like Feel with Small Touches

I keep talking about those little moments of pampering we all love so much. And one thing is certain! Just because we have a small bathroom decor, it doesn’t mean we can’t make it feel a little posh.😌 Remember, it’s all in the little things. And yes, I’m absolutely obsessed with making my bathroom space feel like a luxurious spa. One where only I am allowed. 💆😋
So, what do I do to make this small corner a piece of heaven? First, for me, it’s all about the textiles. I need the softest towels, in every size imaginable. That feeling of wrapping myself in one after a hot bath is simply indescribable. An instant moment of pure nourishing and pleasure. 🤍
Another must-have? A plush bath mat I can truly sink into. They say the deepest relaxation begins from the toes and travels all the way up. And honestly, I couldn’t agree more. From my fluffy rug to my thick, cosy head towel … I feel no stress whatsoever. Just softness, warmth, and stillness. 🙂
Of course, the finishing touches … we all know them. In a spa, every one of our senses is indulged to the fullest. So think: essential oils, scented candles, coconut body lotions, exotic shower creams, you name it. All neatly placed in the cutest rattan basket or arranged on a wooden bath tray. I can feel my body unwinding just thinking about a little spa ritual at home.
Play with Mirrors

I’m sure you’ve heard this tip everywhere: when you have a small space, you can visually make it feel bigger with mirrors. It’s that magical play of light and optical illusion. Simple, yet so effective. Honestly, it’s such a handy solution. Having mirrors on at least two walls can be a game-changer. You actually feel like you’ve stepped into a larger room. As I mentioned earlier, opting for cabinets with built-in mirrors is one of the smartest ways to make the most of our little bathroom.
But while all of that is true, for me, mirrors do more than just open up a space. They elevate the design entirely. I don’t think it gets more elegant or sophisticated. It gives me the sensation of being on a city break in a five-star hotel. Where everything gleams and I can see myself from every angle. 👀
And honestly, I think that’s how we begin to accept ourselves … by looking. Truly looking. Embracing everything we are. And maybe even starting to work on the things we don’t love quite as much. And no, I’m not just talking about physical aspects (though, yes, those matter to me too). When I look into the mirror, it’s deeper than that. It’s about presence. It’s about honesty. That moment, right there … it’s who I really am. Do I always like what I see? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. But I believe in self-improvement. And to grow, I need to know where I stand, every single day. I can’t lie to myself. 🥹
So yes, I suppose mirrors in my small bathroom are more than decor. They’re a reflection of me. In the most literal and metaphorical way. What about you? Do you like mirrors? 🙂
Lighting Will Warm Up the Room

This might be a slightly biased point of view. But I’ve had anxiety for many years now, and I’ve discovered that warm lighting is one of the best therapies for me. My mind seems to adore dim lights and flickering candles. Basically, anything that creates a romantic and soothing atmosphere feels like daily medicine. Well, alongside a few other essentials, of course. 😅
So inevitably, in my tiny bathroom, I’ve made room for every kind of lighting you can think of. I do have the basic crisp white, ceiling light. You know … the kind that hits you harder than coffee first thing in the morning. 😁 That one’s just there because my boyfriend insists on it, for whatever reason.🤷 But everything else? Oh, that’s where the magic happens. I have all those little lighting touches that can transform a simple bubble bath into the most calming, tranquil moment ever.
Let’s start with sensor lighting. I love wandering in during the night and catching just the softest, distant sparkle. It keeps me in that sleepy, dreamy state. Then there are the LED strips under all my shelves and cabinets. They wrap the room in the most flattering way. It makes everything look luxurious and so modern. And of course, I couldn’t go without my wall sconces with neutral light. I use them at night, especially when taking off my makeup. I’m not about to shock myself with bright lights and bare face before bed! 🤭
And by now, you already know … I have candles everywhere. On shelves, ledges, little corners, scented or battery-operated, they’re my favourite choice. Especially when I lose myself in a good film, soaking in the warmest bath possible. Actually … it’s getting kind of late now. So … I’m heading there right now!
Extra Details That Matter

I call them details, but honestly … they’re pretty important. Especially if we want our space to look as stylish as possible, no matter how small it may be.
First of all, a lovely little tip to widen the room is to go for light colours on the walls. Just like mirrors, they trick the eye into believing the space is bigger than it really is. And depending on whether we have a shower or a bathtub, I’d suggest choosing a white or transparent shower curtain. Or, if we’re going for something sleeker, a crystal-clear glass screen can be an even more refined choice. It all comes down to personal taste here. No right or wrong, no judgement! 😊
So, what other details can make a small bathroom feel truly special? Now I’m purely speaking from my own point of view. But for me, artwork is a must. Not just in the bathroom, in every room. Art is art. It’s creative, dreamy, and full of hidden meaning … if you’re willing to look closely. 😉 🤫
I also adore having colourful flowers in eye-catching vases. My favourite flowers are lilies, so I like to switch up the colour now and then. As for the vase, I usually choose gold, black, or white. It all depends on the rest of my decor. If I’ve gone for gold or black accents, I’ll match accordingly. For example, I use refillable lotion bottles for all my creams. And yes, I have them in both black and gold.✨🖤 They give off a posh, polished vibe, which I love. Especially because I only keep a few things on show. The rest is neatly tucked away. 🤭
P.S.
Because even in the most tucked-away corners of the home, there’s space for a little beauty. A nook that feels entirely ours. And sometimes, it’s the tiniest touches that make the biggest difference. 🙂
