It’s the end of March, and the sun is growing warmer by the day. Nature is slowly reclaiming its strength, making its presence known in every corner. I even find joy in the hum of insects, drawn to the sweetness of blooming flowers. 🐝🌸 Everything around me looks like a painting, brought to life by the most gifted gardener. With all this beauty awakening, it feels like the perfect time to refresh my little outdoor space as well. I want to move in harmony with Mother Nature’s rhythm. It leaves me feeling more connected to the vibrant and positive energy all around. 🌞
This year, I want my budget outdoor decor to look as stylish as possible. I sense it’s going to be a very warm few months, so I plan to spend all my free time in my garden. There’s nothing that inspires me more than vibrant colours and soothing scents filling the air. I’ve come up with a few ideas to bring this vision to life. And who knows … they might just inspire you too! 😊
Pathway to happiness
I’m in England, so it’s no secret that it tends to rain every so often. But the rain can literally last just five minutes, and then the sun is out, stronger than ever. At least, this is the kind of weather twist I’ve experienced lately, which I absolutely love, by the way. The only downside is that my little garden gets muddy so quickly … it’s unbelievable. It’s like a thirsty sponge for fresh rainwater. 😟
But this year, I’ve found the perfect solution to spend time outdoors even after a brief but heavy shower. I’ll install garden stepping stones. I found these super affordable ones, and I can’t wait to see how they’ll look. They’re amazingly practical but will also elevate my aesthetic to another level. I can already picture myself walking like a princess along my cute little stone pathway! 😅
Zen little corner
My favourite thing to do in my little garden is to savour the warmth of the sun and listen to all the soothing sounds around me. It relaxes my mind in such a way that I could sit there for hours. So, of course, I have to design my own unique zen corner in my outdoor space. But don’t think it’s a very complicated thing to bring to life. The way I see it, joy lies in the simplest of things. 😊
What sound can make us smile and feel the joy of being alive? For me, it’s the little birds during the warmer seasons. I can hear them all the time, from the moment I open my eyes in the morning, whether in the trees or near my window. Their song instils hope in my entire being and transports me to a tropical island. Where everything is just peace and happiness. I want to have these adorable birds around me at all times, so a small bird fountain is a treat for both parties. For them, to enjoy fresh water, and for me … to simply enjoy them closer to my heart. 🐦
Imagine sitting in my hanging outdoor chair under the gentle heat of the sun, while little “strangers” come by to take a sip of water. If this isn’t one of life’s luxuries, I don’t know what else is. 💛
Lovely outdoor furniture
For my budget outdoor decor, I would opt for the simplest furniture possible. My space is already small, so I wouldn’t want to overwhelm it with too many seating pieces. The ambiance is more suited for intimate gatherings. Just me and my boyfriend or me and my best friend chatting until it gets dark … this kind of sweet reunion.
I have many things that remind me of my childhood, but one that stands out in particular is a memory of my mum taking me to the swings in our local park. I remember laughing so much and enjoying that time with my mum like nothing else before. 😇 To honour this blissful memory, I would choose a comfortable outdoor swing as my main seating area. It’s my idea of romance, softly interconnected with innocence.
I would also add a rattan armchair near the swing to create the perfect scene. Just a small outdoor table in between, and nothing else is missing. We can sit, chat, laugh, sunbathe, and drink freshly squeezed lemonade for all the hotter days to come. I hope it turns out as beautiful as it is in my mind! 🙃
Colourful garden flowers
What would my little garden be without sprinkling a rainbow of colourful flowers? I love to plant seeds of all kinds of garden flowers I can possibly find. I absolutely adore how the colours mix together and blend into the greenery around them. It’s a dreamy landscape that I could admire for hours.🪻It’s the one place where I am connected on a deeper level to all my senses.My vision, my perception, and my sense of smell are all immersed in these irreplaceable gifts of nature.
My mum’s garden is filled with all types of roses … some of the tallest and most imposing. It’s like a kingdom of roses, emanating the most intoxicating perfume. 🌹The blend of colours and scents creates such a calming and ethereal atmosphere. It’s such a delight to be immersed in that kind of natural beauty! Do you have a favourite flower that you love to plant most? 🙂
Romantic lighting
During the day, we don’t need to worry about lighting. We have the irreplaceable sunshine that fills us with vitamin D and gives us a glowing tan. I wouldn’t give that up for anything in the world. But what about the darker hours? I still find myself outside with my boyfriend, talking about anything that connects us as human beings. So, I want the ambiance to be as pleasant as possible. 🌞
I love adorning my outdoor space with little bulbs of fairy lights and lantern candle holders. The warm light makes me feel cosy, safe, and protected, even when I’m outside. Besides, they are absolutely perfect for those nights when we want to have a romantic dinner in the privacy of our garden. I adore the sound of clinking wine glasses beneath the sparkle of the twinkling lights. It’s a whimsical experience and an ineffable sensation.
One more thing we could add is an outdoor standing lamp, just so it could illuminate our path to the door. We never know how many glasses of wine we’ll have! 🤭Just joking … or am I? 🤔😃
Outdoor barbecue station
My favourite Sundays are the ones spent with my family, in a private environment, simply enjoying each other’s company. It feels tranquil, and we nourish each other with positive energy, no matter where we are in life. Now that it’s getting warmer, we can easily spend time together in my little garden. Even if we are just two or three people, I can sense the infinite love that floats around us. 💕
I truly believe in the saying, “We are who we surround ourselves with.“ Personally, I only want to be surrounded by joy, warmth, and unconditional affection. Plus, I just love some good food with the people I love. So, a barbecue station in my little budget outdoor decor will always have its place. Food has a way of bringing us even closer and encouraging the most intimate conversations. I suppose we’re simply happier when we have a delicious meal and a refreshing drink. Everything that follows is pure laughter and unforgettable relaxation. I can’t wait for the next Sunday! 🤗
All is green around me
Like everything else in my home decor, I like my beautiful garden to shine at its highest level. There are some areas where natural grass doesn’t seem to grow, so I see nothing wrong in filling those spots with a bit of artificial help. Besides, I honestly can’t see the difference … the artificial grass blends in effortlessly. Or perhaps I might go for all artificial grass and not have to worry about maintaining it. I’m still weighing my options. 🤔
However, one thing I’m sure about is using artificial plants for my garden walls. 💚 I love being surrounded by greenery, so I’ve chosen to cover the walls in vibrant green too. It makes the entire atmosphere feel more alive. I even found some adorable panels of faux leaves that give the impression of a wild, tropical spot. I must admit, I’m going all in when it comes to adorning the edges of my garden. Every time I step into my outdoor space, I want to feel like I’m in a lush paradise. After all, dreaming costs nothing! 😊
Personal touches
Personally, I have always adored colourful interior design. It feels so joyful and full of anticipation for future blessings. Well, I embrace this style in my budget outdoor decor as well. This is where I believe I can leave my personal mark on our home … a bit of my individuality.
By that, I mean I often enjoy a little DIY work. I love painting my patio furniture in rainbow hues and mixing and matching depending on my mood. And I’ve never regretted it. It makes the whole atmosphere feel more vibrant and playful. 🙃
I don’t believe in the idea that we must change our style once we mature, as though we need to become more serious and gradually fade away with time. Never let anyone tell you that! 🤫 There are no rules, no guidelines, and no outside opinions that matter more than your own. We should act as we feel and be proud of it. I’ve always embraced my colourful, joyful, and honest self, and I always will. Even if the years are becoming harder to count. 🤭
