After the winter holidays, I look forward to the arrival of spring and warmer days. It’s the perfect time to swap out all the thick textures in our home for lighter and more colourful ones. I love bringing the freshness of nature back into my house. I like to start the beginning of spring with a thorough cleaning. After putting away all the accessories of my winter home decor, I can begin creating the perfect setting for the sunnier days ahead.
One thing I know for sure is that I don’t like to overdo it. While it may sound like a cliche, I truly believe that “less is more” also applies to interior design. Just thinking of floral patterns makes me smile. I imagine myself in a wonderful garden full of blossoming flowers. It’s like a perfect painting of second chances. I want to bring that image into my living room and share that feeling with my family. Of course, we have to consider the colours of our existing furniture before adding new accessories. But I have to confess that the scent that reminds me of spring is the fragrance of freshly squeezed lemons. My grandmother used to make lemonade on the first day of spring, and just thinking about the sweet and sour taste of those big, juicy lemons makes my mouth water. Good for the body and good for the soul!

- 5. Artificial garden flowers
I’ve had a deep love for artificial flowers ever since I was little. My family used to have this beautiful little garden just outside my room. When spring arrived, I was captivated by the rainbow of colours and scents emanating from the garden flowers.

However, they are there for my soul’s nourishment, not merely for decorative purposes. Recently, though, I stumbled upon the idea of colourful decorative books. They would emanate pure joy, at least in my eyes, making them the perfect addition to any stylish spring decor table.
We can match the colours with our existing accessories and let them work their magic from there. I think they are just perfect for adding a pop of colour to our home decor. Vivid tones instantly bring to mind thoughts of an exotic vacation.
I’ve noticed that they are usually arranged horizontally, unlike ordinary books which are typically stacked vertically. They are designed purely to mesmerise our eyes and enliven our interior home design. 🙂
- 7. Lightweight throw
Even with spring here, there will still be days when we just need a cute throw to drape over our legs or casually toss over our favourite sofa. Honestly, I feel like my home decor is incomplete without a blanket to cosy it up.
When spring arrives, I replace all my fluffy thick blankets with pastel-coloured, thin ones. Just this small change has a huge impact on my home design. And what better option than a colourful lightweight throw? It adds that bohemian touch to our living space, and spring is the perfect time to feel a bit free-spirited.
Not to mention how useful this type of blanket can be. We can use it for a delightful picnic with our loved ones or cover ourselves on the patio while reading our favourite book. I can just imagine how the softness of the throw is equally matched by the sunshine caressing my face. Welcome spring! 🙂
